Hi,

This problem is bizarre. I have tried reinstalling, but nothing seem to work. Here is the problem…

Whenever I try and access the color picker by clicking on th foreground color on either the toolbar or the color pallette P switches into eyedropper mode and does not bring up the color picker. Plus, I can not select another tool or do anything in the program including shutting it down (I have to use task manager). All the menu are grayed out except for the window and view menu and the help link. This is very frustrating as I cannot do anything with PS right now.

I have PS 7 on WinXP pro.

Thanks for the help anyone!

Your Color Picker is off the screen. Did you have two monitors at some point? You should be able to get out of it by hitting Enter. Then from Window>Workspace Reset Palette Locations.

THanks for the help. I can now exit eyedropper mode, but the stupi color picker still won’t show up. I currently use two monitors, an have switched primary displays to try and get the color picker to sho up. Is it simply that I moved the color picker off the screen somehow If so, how on earth do I get it back? I tried resetting the palletes and that didn’t work. Any other suggestions on how to get the colo picker back?

Ok – I finally figured it all out! Previously, I had the secondar monitor in my dual-monitor setup on the other physical side of m primary display. Then I decided to switch the secondary monitor to th other side of my primary display. So, I had to switch the primary an secondary displays in my display properties. I guess Photoshop mus have been open when I switched the displays virtually….

I solved the problem by virtually switching the primary and secondar displays in display properties/settings, and voila, there was the colo picker in the middle of the display! It had been sitting way off th screen to the physical side that the secondary monitor USED to b on….whew….hope that wan’t too unintelligible….haha

Thanks again for your help. Your post triggered the solution!
