Dear Adobe,
It appears that the Linux community has published a web page not only condoning the policy of pirating your application Dreamweaver 8 but also publishing a step by step list of instructions. Additionally a Linux fanatic who goes by the name Roy Schestowitz has been blasting the link to the instructions all over USENET although it appears that he is not the author of the blog describing the piracy of Dreamweaver 8.

Here is the url for the blog

In case the link does not work you can find it here

Here is Mr.Schestowitz’s post to USENET

As a long time Adobe paying customer I find it appalling that Linux users have the audacity to think they don’t have to pay for commercial software.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

To whom it may concern,
Finally getting a day off, yesterday, I decided to rent some movies from the local video store. When I got home (and remembering that I haden’t installed the dvd decoder stuff for Linux), I decided to boot into Windows to watch the movies, (this in itself is fairly rare, for me; I hardly ever use Windows for *anything*). When I tried to play the movies I found that one didn’t want to play.
Ok, so time for a little background info; first, I bought this computer brand new; second, I have a legally licensed copy of WinXP; I also have a legal copy of Dell Media Experience; finally, I rented these movies at a video store that is legal and a well known chain store. My question is simple,
What makes the corporate content management people think they have a right to deny me a service which I purchased in good faith?! DRM is a ‘hot button’ issue, these days. I don’t think the ‘average guy on the street’ is doing anything to hurt these ‘poor, helpless, multi-billion dollar corporations’. If you are so in favor of what they are doing I suggest you invest in Enron stock and rent a few movies!!!

<SNIP>

Here is an indication of a troll, use of terms such as "Linux fanatic", brings up nebulous issues of ownership.

As a long time Adobe paying customer I find it appalling that Linux users have the audacity to think they don’t have to pay for commercial software.

<SNIP>

Another indication of a troll, makes generalisation about the Linux community based on one post.

Linux: You Get What You Don’t Pay For.

Here is his punchline sig. See his agenda? Troll has a problem with software that is free (if downloaded) or low cost (if distro is purchased).
