Using Photoshop 6 and IR3, I’m trying to create an animation in which letters appear one by one to make up a word. I can’t figure out a way to edit the different frames differently: When I change the word in one, all the others follow suit.

Text objects can be manipulated in various ways, but apparently not edited the way I want — at least in this version. I’ve tried all the options, looked at the help, gone through some on-line tutorials. Am I still missing something? (Or is a newer version what I need?)

TIA,
Chris Winter

the frames work by what layers you choose with the little eye icon make the letters on separate layers
make several frames
on frame one make the first letter show
2nd frame leave on layer one add next letter layer to show manipulate the frames by turning off and on layers with the letters
