What is the difference between changing the value of a color channel and changing the input/output value of a color channel? What is the source of the ‘input’ and what is the destination of the ‘output’?
I have been imagining the input/output in the ‘Levels’ dialog, among others, as a kind-of before and after transform but apparently there is more to it than that.
