A Little OT: PC Mall as a Vendor

I’ve settled on my choice for a new printer. Being a new NAPP member, I decided to compare prices against my usual on-line source with the stores listed on NAPP’s home page. PC Mall’s price to NAPP members is less than my usual source, a difference about equal to the shipping of the printer. Never having done business with PC Mall, I decided to check on them and found some reviews on-line. Overwhelming negative over the last year or so. Just to be fair, I looked up my usual source, one I’ve been doing business with for over four years with only one negative experience.* What a surprise, again overwhelming negative. This left some real doubts about the on-line review process.

Has anyone had any experience with PC Mall in terms of ordering a printer? I’d like to hear from the NAPP users in particular, but any experience will do. Just as a side note, I recently ordered flush cartridges from Ink Jet Mall, another on-line store that NAPP lists, and had a satisfactory experience.

*In case you want the details:
My negative experience was a study guide that was backordered when I ordered it. I eventually got tired of waiting for the backorder to be filled and cancelled the order. It seems the publisher was working on a major revision of the text and the revision was delayed. To the vendor’s credit, I had no problem canceling the order and no charges were ever applied to my card. I guess even my negative experience was positive :-{)}

not sure what printer you are ordering…..that would seem most appropriate for your post. All my epson 1270/1280’s I purchased from Amazon at the best price at the time. I purchased my Epson 4000 and 9600 from a dealer.

Thanks. I’m getting an Epson 2200. I don’t know why I didn’t check Amazon sooner. I’ve been doing business with them for a long time and have no problem trusting them. Amazon had a better price than PC Mall and I took the free shipping.

Let the thread die, my question has been answered!
