Hey everyone, was reading tgdaily today and noticed this post, thought some might be interested in the article.

http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/09/12/adobe_photoshop_premiere_e lements_50/ "Photoshop Elements 5.0 adds new features such as the black-and-white conversion tool that will be able to convert any color image to an artistic, elegant picture, according to Adobe. Elements Users will also be able to share their photos online on Adobe Photoshop Showcase."

Does anyone use the current plug-in of Elements for photoshop that can comment on it? Or perhaps someone has a beta / leaked copy of this program they could reflect on?

No beta release yet I’m afraid, but I have pulled together a pretty concise review that might interest you.

It cuts out all the Adobe sales-speak, and just pulls the important info together onto one page.

There’s also a really good demonstration video there, which shows some of the new features in action. Unfortunately though, an exhaustive features list won’t be available until beta release.

Does anyone know if Elements 5 will allow boolean searches? I have specific tags for who, what and where. It would be nice if I could pull up pictures of my children camping in the Sierra (an AND search) rather than all of the pictures I have of my children, of my camping trips, and of the Sierra (an OR search, which is essentially what is available in Elements 4).

I’m not familiar with Elements, but can you do a search for sierra and then do another search on the result of that search? That would be equivalent to an "and" search.

Andrew,

Searching "within" a previous search would be a bit more cumbersome but would accomplish the same purpose as a boolean search. Unfortunately, I have not figured out a way to do this in Element 4.0.
