can’t get white drop-shadow….

I have blue layer, want a white drop-shadow for it.. but when I chg drop-shadow color in drop-shadow palette from any color to white drop-shadow disappears.. (layer right underneath IS a dark layer..) would appreciate suggestions.. thank you..

By default, the modus of the drop shadow is set to ‘Multiply’. That doesn’t work with white. Set it to ‘Normal’ or ‘Screen’.

Frances, in the layer style window, with the drop shadow checked and selected, make sure that the layer mode on the right is set to normal.
