Hi all,

how do you get the objects (ie, your text, your color or what every you have on your current layer) on your current layer back to the centre of the screen?

eg. I’ve typed some text on a layer and after working with some other things. I must have acidentially moved the text off the canvas and now i can’t find it. I’m trying to move the text (that i can’t see) around so it might accidentially show up on the screen but no hope.

so how do i get it back?

– thanks for any comments.

Could be a function to do this, don’t remember. What I would do is go to canvas size and make the canvas bigger until I get all my element in sight, move them back where they’re supposed to be, then use the trim function to get the canvas back to normal.
Hope this help.

Yeah your right i could do that. I was thinking to doing something like that as a last resort.

if anyone knows how to do this in a systematic rather than a trial and error way. A post will be appreciated.

– thanks.

If you can’t just select the move tool and drag it back in (with auto-select layer under cursor off), then maybe select all on the layer and aligning it (option bar for move tool)?

In alt.graphics.photoshop, Nick ordered an army of hamsters to type:

Select another layer with something on it and link it to the layer you’ve lost then in the layer menu there is an align linked option, try that.
