I have asked this question a few hours ago in the other group, and of course most members visit both, but I tend to think some people only visit/contribute to one.

Please look at http://home.intekom.com/davesplace/garden.html (There is still a lot of work to be done here, but I uploaded it for the sake of this question ) look at the 4th image (4smile).

The ring on the girl’s finger – I want to add sparkle to it; it must shine, it must be very obvious (actually I want a exaggerated glitter), and the Neon Glow in CS2 can not do it.

Any suggestions how to do it?

Dave

Hi Dave
There are not many pixels to work with – at least on the jpg you posted. Zales.com and Debeers.com have plenty of gems you could download and extract to replace the one in the picture. I expect the ones for around $30,000 are quite shiny.

Good luck,
Ron

Google for starburst effects. Something like this as a starting point:

Photshop has hundreds of tricks up its sleeve if you know where to find them. This technique will show you how to recreate a starburst filter effect

Thanks a lot for this link, Derek. Already in the site…

Not to worry – ignore this request
Derek Fountain gave me the answer
on comp.graphics.apps.photoshop.
We should stop lingering at the known places (in PS)
and investigate the rest of PS-City as well. There’s
gold at unknown places
