I recently started creating animated gifs in Imageready – question; Do animated gifs take very much longer to load on a website than similarly sized non-animated gifs and jpgs? The one I’m making is 7 frames and is 468×60 pixels in size. Thanks a lot. Cyndi

Quick answer: This is going to be 7 gif pictures on top of each other, so 7 times as long as one picture. Often a gif is much smaller in kB’s then a jpg.
Trial and error, most of the time.
Suppose it is a banner? Not every picture has to be 468×60, often the moving part is smaller.

Good luck with it

Thanks. Yeah, that makes sense, it taking seven times longer to load. And yes, it’s a banner I’m making. Thanks again.
