Hi, All of a sudden I can’t use the type tool. When entering text a small black box appears on the layer without seeing any text. I changed fonts and size without any help. However the layer palette displays the text. I tried to reset Photoshop with a control, shift, alt upon startup. Any ideas would be appreciated. Stu

Is it possible that the type color is the same as the background color?

check the character palette
put spacing at auto
put all at 100% or 0

‘Reset’ is also a good idea when things get goofed up (little arrow top right).
