I’ve just reimaged my laptop, (P3-600, 256K Ram) and installed XP Pro with SP2.

I’ve found that Photoshop CS is very slow to load. Once loaded, it works fine, just slow to load. Anyone else have this or is my pc just to old?

First, yes , your specs are a bit on the light side.
Second, Photoshop tells you what it does when it loads, where does it get stuck? Loading fonts maybe?

Then you have your answer: too many fonts or maybe a problem font. de-install them and re-install them in little groups, you’ll find the bad one.

CS and SP2? Doesn’t function as intented, many problems, in special with the on-line help function. Kill the SP2 untill this is fixed; it might take a year or so.

CS works just fine on my laptop under SP2. Me thinks your problems are due to ‘operator error’ or something else. CS Help works just fine. If you want to make it even better, just permit pop-ups in CS Help.

To the OP – you have a weak platform for XP and CS. The least you could do is ramp up RAM to a gig.

Tmho 512 Mb memory is enough, plus plenty of free space on the hdd.

When you’re happy, I am!
