I recently built a computer and am running two operating systems on it. Windows creates two drives with different drive letters. When I try to use my actions, it’s trying to use my other partition (and other drive letter) because I created it on my other computer. Is there any way I could edit my actions without recording (Text edit) and then load them back into Photoshop?

Thanks

I just learned you can export your action commands by holding down the Control and Alt keys while selecting Save Actions. It will save them as a text file. Is there any way to import that back in?

Save (actions pallette –> arrow) your actions in the one setup to a folder (will save as .atn). Save that to a disk of some sort and copy when in the other setup. Then from actions pallette –> load actions.

NO. If you want ALL of your actions ported from one location to another, find the Actions Pallet.PSP and copy it to that folder of the drive that is running PS (Windows|Applications Data|Adobe|7.0|Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings)

If you can build a computer, you probably know enough to be able to edit a .atn file with a hex editor. Changing a drive letter should be straightforward.

I would suggest backing up any action before text editing it. Also it is not that hard to edit an action just open up whatever actions need changing and edit the one step and then delete the incorrect one.

Thanks!
The hex editor seems to be a fastest approach for my sort of application. But I’ll still use double clicking for my smaller actions since that’s quicker. Thanks again!

Hey Philip, thank you very much for your quick reaction, The actions are not very well documented and i couldn’t find this edititing. I’ve tried it on your way and that is a lot easyer as make a whole action over again.
