you can add and delete steps in any action at any time. to modify an existing action. open the action, place your cursor over the step to replace or before the step you want to add and hit record. add your additional steps. hit stop. you’re done if you were adding. if you were replacing steps, now go and delete the steps you no longer need by dragging them to the trash bin in the actions palette.

you mean change the tempaltes themselves? yes. i suggest you copy one that’s close to a new folder then modify that one.

They should be stored in something like:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\WebContactSheet

Just be careful not to mess w/the variables that PS needs to run the automate feature.
