Tried one some years ago, well, a Wacom A6 it was.
Too small. A5 works neat, Isay.

Sorry, don’t agree, tried A4 also, but that’s way too large. No space on the table and hardley ever useful.

I use the A5 and it is just perfect in terms of actual size. It’s also beautifully responsive. It is really one of the best things i have ever invested in…

Actually, it depends on what you need it for. A4 is the upper limit if al you are doing is imaging work in Photoshop, but I find A4 much more useful in Painter. A5 is probably the ideal size for PS, though A6 will work fine (I had an A6 tablet for years before the A4). Anything bigger than A4 is really fro drafting/CAD work and so forth. —

I notice from the Wacom site that it is the
"Intuos3 4×5 tablet with USB connector (PC or Mac) – $219.95"

That is already out of stock. That seems to be the popular one.

probably is popular. With this sort of purchase I would advise anyone considering buying to go to a local specialist and try one out.

This one is as good as the other.

for a better price $50.00 and it’s worth it.

I have to agree with Hecate. I have been using an A4 Intuos II for a couple of years now, mainly for photoshop work, selections, dodging/burning in etc. I find it a bit too large, in retrospect the A5 would have been better, smaller on the desk and cheaper. I mostly use it in "quick point" mode which actually gives you two adjustable working areas- one is around 20x25cm, and a smaller one in the corner is about 7x5cm. The only time the full A4 is useful is if you are drawing or painting strokes and want broad sweeping hand movements. The other time is if you want to place a diagram/pic under the transparent cover and trace over it. I have never used the short cut menu on the pad as it is quicker to use keyboard shortcuts or the menu than stuff around refocusing your eyes onto the pad, finding the indistinct grey on grey buttons, aiming the pen, then refocusing on the screen. Good luck
