Feathering effect looks like harsh watercolor

I tried saving the files without compressing them but no difference. Any other ideas? Does anyone else have this problem? I notice it also with gradients — noticeable color changes instead of smooth transition.

Is the printer postscript–if not some printers out of RGB will give you very weird results with feathering and gradients. I personally don’t like HP’s. I think Epsons are better especially with the software rip.
