thumbnail slow to load..

using windows 2000 and Photoshop CS..
have 1G Ram and 180g drive…
when I try to open folders and view the photos as thumbnails they are VERY slow to open up and if I try to scroll them PS locks up and quits..this also happened with Photoshop 6.6 Any suggestions please..

Nancy,

1) Turn off high-rez previews
2) Leave the browser to generate the thumbs overnight. Once it has generated them they will be cached and the problem will go away
