I’m using an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 with drivers dated Oct 2003 on WinXP Home with Adobe Gamma Loader and I’ve never seen this problem. I’ve checked that it is loading the specified default profile by creating one that was really way off and it loaded that. Perhaps it is a card-specific or OS-related problem. I’d assumed that the FAQ was out of date in that the problem didn’t exist any more until I saw this post.

One way to check would be to get a local dealer (if such exists in your area) to put one of the new cards in to see if it works on the premise that you would buy it if it does. The lower end cards are cheap and more than adequate for PS.

Are you sure that you are using it properly? Do you intend to use another software to replace it? Do you use an LCD screen?
By any chance, don’t you have overwritten your starting profile? Check out <http://computer-darkroom.com/ps8-colour/ps8_2.htm> to find out how to use it as it should be!
Tust us Adobe Gamma is good (unless you use something else)

Are you sure that you are using it properly?
Maybe not sure since its instructions are not clear

Do you intend to use another software to replace it?
No but to get back to the original profile

Do you use an LCD screen?
Yes I use also an LCD screen in addition

By any chance, don’t you have over written your starting profile? Check out <http://computer-darkroom.com/ps8-colour/ps8_2.htm> to find out how to use it as it should be!

I will check it, but it seems that I have overwritten the original profile

Tust us Adobe Gamma is good (unless you use something else) I have no doubt that it is good, but it is not working for me and I have ruined my display and cannot see images properly, even colors are totaly out of syncronisation

If you can help me here to prove it is good then help me to get the display properly working:

I have a Laptop Dell latitude 840C with NVIDIA GeoForce4 440G 32RAM , the operating system is Windows XP

If you have an ICC file that is good for this system it would be much appreciated and I will install and hope it works

Thanks

Don’t ever use Adobe Gamma with an LCD display, especially on a Laptop. So far as getting the profile is concerned you may wish to check the driver disks supplied with the computer.
