Hi all,

I am trying to replicate a razor edge on some type like the Oakley Blizzard Logo version.

I know we have Distort/Ripple but it doesnt give me a real sharp aggressive feel.

Anyone got any filters or techniques that can help me replicate it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Scary. Looks like razor wire from a local jail, painted black.

You could experiment with the Wave filter.

What about the liquify filter?

The more I look at it, the more I am convinced it was done in Corel Painter, rather than Photoshop. A "rake" brush or palette knife, applied in one direction, then reversed. Knowing the limitations of Painter for easy skewing, I’d venture it was probably imported into Photoshop to get the tilt.

<http://www.thewebmachine.com/> has a decent enough "saw blade" tutorial to get beveled "razor" edges, but this effect isn’t that. It looks more like it was applied to a large text ‘O’.

In addition using the wave filter you could also try zigzag. Play around with distortion filters a bit.

If none of the suggestions above work as you’d like, you could do it the old-fashioned way and erase what you don’t want. Time consuming but effective …
