Hi

Can anyone tell me how to accuratelly align types?
I am practicing making web site headers in CS and it’s going real well but when my type layers are created I use my eye and the move tool to center them where I need them, it is not accurate.
A google search result said to use "VIEW–>SHOW–>GUIDES" but it is grayed out for me, prior to create the type layer, while typing the text and once done, it is always grayed out.

Thanks a lot

Patrick

Have you created any guides? You can not show guides if there are no guides to show.

Hi Patrick,
I do not know if CS has Smart Guides but if it does then they can be very helpful for aligning text to objects. They are disabled if Grid is turned on so you will need to turn that off to use them.

Good luck,

Hi

Thanks to all for the answers.Tacit’s answer helped me the most in my case. I was looking at VIEW–>SHOW–>GUIDES which was grayed out and I should have done VIEW–>NEW GUIDE instead.

Thanks again guys

Patrick
