Hey, I’m trying to create the look of a branding iron on a cow. Does anyone have a good technique or an action that does this. Any tips will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Finally, a non-stupid question. You are looking for layer blending effects on the layer palette. make your "brand" on a new layer and start fooling with that.

First, adequately sedate the cow. 😉 I would play with layers, layer styles, adjustment layers, blend modes, textures, and perhaps a texture channel within the Render Lighting Effects Filter. Bevel and emboss with "up" lighting. Are you creating a branding iron and the brand itself? Is it to be "fresh" as in still smoking?
