On a windows system, you will be able to install it on any drive which is recognized by the system! but you will only be able to use it on that same windows system! as Photoshop makes numerous changes to the windows registry which are referred to every time you start Photoshop!

You need to uninstall it and reinstall it on the other drive. You can’t simply copy it there as there are other things that need to be changed, things in the registry, etc.

If it were only registry items then one could copy registry entries and edit them to work, however CS2 does something else again. I’m not sure where it writes the data, but it’s (IMHO) pretty mean.

However, by the time you found all of the registry entries and edited them they could have had the program uninstalled and reinstalled and assured that you had the job done right.

The idea was to have it on two drives at the same time but I’m not sure there’s a compelling reason to do so.

I don’t think you can. Having things (assuming you can find everything and make copies of it so everything points to two different places) on two drives with things in registry, etc. point to two different places would only confuse Photoshop and your OS. I see no reason to do this.

I am concerned about uninstalling it because the first time I installed it, it didn’t recognize my earlier Photoshop (7?) installation, and I had to call Adobe to get it straighened out.
