I am using Photoshop 6.0 and running on Windows XP … I am having issues when I’m saving a .tif as a .jpg … Within the past 2 days I’ve gone to "Save for Web" and when I view the 4-Up, the quality of the image is extremely bad and dotted even when I choose "JPEG Maximum" … Im thinking its a setting issue.. not sure though … Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Does it actually save a bad looking image? I had a glitch once where the preview looked horrible, but the image looked fine.

If it saves bad too, I’m at a loss. You did say it was set to JPG and not GIF, so I’m stumped.

Does the image look okay when saved and viewed in another program, like web brower?

If so, but looks bad in the 4up only, then is almost certainly PS not playing well with your video driver.

I did try saving it and the image looks fine, so im thinking it’s a setting issue … possibly the video driver as suggested … How would I go about checking to see that it is working properly?

Well, one little oft-used test is to turn video hardware acceleration to
0. If prob clears up onscreen, is definitely driver.

But I don’t know what else it *could* be, really..unless it’s the video card/chip itself.
