Using Adobe Photoshop CS and a HP Designjet 650C. Any guides out there for setting this up and using it? Trying to print a 3×8 poster and not having any luck, completely lost actually…

I’m not sure if there is any other information needed, just ask if it is.

What does not having any luck mean?

I’ve edited your post. This is a professional forum. Please watch the language.

As for your problem, it’s not working is not an answer. What happens when you try? Any error message?

You’ve given no details at all. What version of Windows? What type of file?

Dump the HP and get a Roland FJ-540.

3×8 on a 650c? Good luck, that’s not the right tool for the job. Try this (but I doubt it will work) – in the printer driver under Printing Preferences > Advanced tab, pick "…In computer" where it says "Process document…"

Without a RIP you won’t be able to print the 96 in length inches you want.

I got it sorted out.

I would also like to formally apologize for being unprofessional, I have been under alot of stress. Not that it’s much of an excuse.

Would you care to give us the details about what fixed it? Someone else might just come along with a similar problem.

I quite like ONYX’s RIP. It’ll run a lot of different machines.

Note: I am not associated with ONYX in any, save that I use their products at work

Good, at least ONE in the world who likes ONYX.

PosterShop Pro 5.5 has excellent color conversion algo-
rithms. PosterShop Profiler creates very good profiles.

The program structure (handling, menues) was (is) horrible. The support was less than nothing. Update would cost much, though I had expected that it would have been a pleasure for Onyx to supply the unhappy users with improved soft- ware for free.

Before buying it´s recommended to ask here:

Problem: they are supporting only a small number of printers. The software is OK.

Gernot,

If you want a RIP I really hate, try Wasatch, doesn’t let you open multiple files, doesn’t tell you what file you are working on, the list goes on.

I still prefer the Cheetah RIP, but AFAIK it only works for certain devices none of which are inkjets.

It actually was selecting "In computer…" that did it for me.

Thanks for your input also, guys.

Rene – if you get a chance check out Scanvec/Amiable’s PhotoPrint server PRO.

One of the most straight forward interfaces for running multiple printers I’ve seen.

Also comes with it’s own ICC profile creation.

(I dont mind Wasatch – exept for the GUI)
