I’m using Photoshop 7 to create a background image. I want the background to start with a red color and slowly turning to black color. How do I do that?set foreground color to red, background to black.

than click gradient tool, if you don’t see it, it is under the bucket tool. in options bar click on the gradient color bar.
a window appears and click on the first square( with the colors you have choosen)
click OK
on the right of the gradient colors (option bar) you can choose how the gradient appears.
while clicking, drag with your mouse down .
