I expect Adobe will think of some wonderful ehancements so they can charge us for the upgrade.

How about more blocking software? At the moment they’re only trying to stop you scanning images of curency (in case you bevcome a forger) but I’m sure the technology could be improved to stop you scanning other things e.g. hamburgers (in case you get fat), fast cars (in case you drive dangerously), cigarettes ( in case you get cancer), nude women (in case you go blind) etc etc.

And then of course there’s the registration process – I’m sure we could make that better.
How about signing the agreement in blood, which Adobe could then have DNA tested (at your expense of course).
You could then send your CD to Adobe at monthly intervals to be tested so they could ensure that no-one else has touiched your CD without their permission

Actually quite a lot especially since Adobe took up the policy of adding half completed features.

As for CS 2 I wouldn’t expect anything until the middle or late 2005.

I believe the blocking is done with the scanner and not Photoshop. A friend of mine is running CS (I’m still on v7) has no problem scanning a new $20 bill with his older scanner.

That’s interesting. Been a lot of discussion about CS currency scan blocking. Are you sure he’s nor using an older version of PS with his scanner – or perhaps he’s download the crack (eerm sorry – patch)

I think it might depend upon who’s currency you are trying to scan. I have no trouble with our New Zealand banknotes but there again I only have version 7.

Well, I can use the same scanner with a different, older prog, and scan currency fine. Same scanner w/ PS CS, and it gives me the blocking msg. So it must be to PS software, not the scanner.
