Okay, I admit it. I posted this question some days ago and got no response and am basically repeating the question–which is–

How on earth do i change the default settings–in particular the "Spacing" setting–in the brushes palette? Mine defaults continually to 300%, forcing me to adjust the spacing EVERY time I choose a brush.

Maybe u didn’t answer before because it’s so ridiculously easy, and you wonder if someone so dumb deserves the information. I assure you that I’ve looked everywhere I can think of, and am turning to you as a last resort.

welp.

It should default to whatever setting it had when you last used it. If that is not the case then try deleting your preferences and restarting Photoshop.

Since you didn’t mention your version or platform, take a look here to determine where your preferences are located.

Before trashing prefs, look at the other dynamics in the Brushes dialog. Is spacing set to 300% in any of them?

Go to Window > Brushes and click on Brush Tip Shape. The Spacing is at the bottom. Change it and close out of Photoshop and reboot the program….and it should stay. If not, you may try dumping the prefs (CTRL+ALT+SHFT on reboot of Photoshop).

Peadge 🙂
