It could be possible (especially panorama) to do both, but you don’t wanna use Photoshop for mosaic which requires much much more work and skill than some simple program designed for mosaic specific.

Have I used Photoshop to create mosaic? No, I never even thought about it but base on what I know how to do with Photoshop I am pretty sure I can. But I sure do not wanna waste my time laying hundreds/thousands of images on single canvas to start making mosaic. So

– Panorama, it’s possible and I read that CS3 has a special option for this (haven’t looked or tried myself, but tried once on older Photoshop)

– Mosaic, you may wanna GOOGLE for a free or cheap shareware mosaic program which should do. If you mean Plug-in then I believe I read there is/are plug-in(s) to simulate Mosaic (or Photoshop itself has this option/plug-in?).

Self answered. Yes: very well from JPG, and struggles with RAW.

eh? A mosaic photo might run a dozen to several dozen images, but not thousands.

Anyway, I did a simple 3 x 3 and it figured it out (from JPG), it had a harder time with raw and made a small error in the image. Took a minute or so from a 6 Mpix JPG and about 7 minutes from a raw.

Yes, does it very well.

That’s my next step.

It’s your mosaic not mine <bg> I haven’t made any mosaic for years, but I have made some and they were 2-4K of photos each.

Anyway, I did a simple 3 x 3 and it figured it out (from JPG), it had a harder time with raw and made a small error in the image. Took a minute or so from a 6 Mpix JPG and about 7 minutes from a raw.

The last one I made was poster size 20"x30", and I had it run overnite

Yes, does it very well.

I have seen a video tutorial and it seems doing pretty good.

That’s my next step.

But I don’t think the plug-in will do real mosaic (just guessing) but simulate (or fake mosaic or mosaic alike).
