I have inherited a desktop with the following specs:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_ en/specs.htm

I am now using a laptop with a 1GHz processor and 512MB ram, XP Pro. Any thoughts on the idea of using this inherited machine for Photoshop? Of course, I would put a larger IDE drive in it and increase the memory to 1GB – also add a DVD drive. Not familiar with the on board graphics card. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks……..

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

So what is the processor speed??? what size HDD and how much RAM the specs don’t say much but it will be faster that your laptop.

You will have to fill it up with ram to run programs also noticed it has a built in graphics which also uses ram – suggest 2GB would not go astray. RAM is now very cheap. Larger HDD.

Which only gives a range of all important facts. What does your system have in the way of
processor speed and memory.

Which version of Photoshop? There is a difference between Elements and CS3..
! GHZ is a bit slow, but it might be acceptable to you.
512 MB is a bare minimum. 1 GB works better. Most people say "as much as possible".
You need a DVD drive whether you have PS on it or not.

Definitely try for a GB of memory. A one GHz machine is likely to be fairly old which may mean that the LCD is going to give you problems with color accuracy. You might consider an external calibration gadget if you’re concerned about accurate prints.
