Hi Group,

I am using Photoshop CS and have encountered a small problem.

I am scanning in images (tiff format) adjusting them in Photoshop and need to save them as large jpegs, i.e. not using the save for web feature.

I need to use the save as feature, I go through the full procedure quality settings etc., and save.
Yet when I come to check what I have saved it is still in tiff format. If I delete it and go again it still saves in tiff format.

However if I ignore the first save and save again it then produces a jpeg.

Or if I use the save for web feature it saves jpegs fine.

Is this a common problem in PS.CS???

Thanking in advance all those that take the time to reply.

David

What OS, etc.?

Never happens to me. You mean if you go to the directory (folder) where you saved as .jpg it says .tif? Are you saving to a different folder? Maybe it’s a folder refresh problem.

Hi there,
I am using XPpro with SP2.
Yes I am saving it to a folder with just jpegs, separate from the folder with the scanned tiffs.
Funnily it saves the tiff to the same size as the required jpeg. I tried to import one to Dreamweaver just to see whether PS had named it wrong but DW wouldn’t accept the tiff format, so it must be a genuine tiff.

Could it be an SP2 issue???
