i want to create a montage of three photos against a black background. the photos have been worked on in photoshop and are set at 360 lpi ….so when i create a new image do i also make that 360 or would say even 50 or so – as it is just a black background – be adequate?

Hi Steve,
I’m not 100% sure about what you’re asking but if you define your canvas to be large enough to contain all three images at the desired spacing without resizing the background should take care of itself – it can even be a fill layer.

Good luck,

If you are bringing the other photos into the black background, you will need to keep it at a higher lpi or else photoshop will considerably lower the quality upon saving.
