A friend of mine sent me the link for this. The photo (1 single photo) measures 28 feet by 108 feet. The camera they used to take this shot was an aircraft hanger. It has been certified by Guinness as the worlds largest photograph.

Hmmmm. The horizon’s tilted, and the bokeh’s lousy.

Is it or are they the only people to apply for that title?

Can’t say. I never even heard of this until a friend past on the link. I would imagine that if someone else had done something like this that they would have went for the record. Otherwise really what’s the point? Sure it is fascinating, but I doubt you see the market being flooded with the Nikon and Canon Aircraft Hanger cameras.

I think the longest picture is an aerial photograph using a scanning camera and continuous film, which may also be the biggest picture.

I think not. Yes, the CIA and USAF used large format roll film and a panning/pivoting head and slit-shutter (in stereo, too) fifty years ago, but one long image has no practical advantage. It is more efficient to make such images in a digital manner.

The World’s Largest things are all that way. I had a taste of the world’s largest cookie, and it was stale.
