Hi all, I know that I have already asked this question and it was kindly answered to a degree.I managed to get my pictures into photoshop by putting them on my hard drive first but surely I should be able to load then directly into photoshop via the "File Browser"? Any ideas. Your help would be much appreciated. ernst.

Basically you are right in your assumption, you "should" be able to. Unfortunately the information about your system which you provide is the reason you don’t now have the solution!

Hi Ryaida, I’m not sure I understand your answer. What information is needed to provide an answer to my problem?
Many thanks ernst.

You could start with the version of Windows… If you use Windows and how you are attempting to ‘read’ the files you cannot read.

If the memory card mounts as a volume you can access the images in the card directly from PS File Browser. If it does not I think you cant. -F

OK… Care to tell us the brand of camera too?

Probably the mistake you are making is to try and read the camera as a virtual drive. Take the flash card out of the camera and plug it into a card reader. Then you can read the card as if it were another disk drive.

Hi Fixx,
Many thanks for your answer. I think you are correct. At the moment I don’t have a card reader but I can get my pic’s into Photoshop via the software that came with the camera.I saw a "Quick Time" presentation off the Adobe site and it showed the camera being recognised in the file browser so I assumed I could do it as my camera was there. Thanks again. ernst. "Fixx" wrote in message

Depending on your computer OS the camera should apear as a drive on our computer when you connect it. But it will be a lot slower reading something from your camera compared to reading from your hard drive.

Open File Browser, click on the directory you placed the files into…and no offence if you don’t know how to do that, go and get some basic computer lessons before attempting to use PS.

Thanks Travis for your answer. My camera did appear on the drive but when I clicked on it nothing happened. However I have now discovered how to access my pictures directly from the camera.I agree,it was much slower that when I got them from my hard drive.

Aericeus, I think no reply would have sufficed in this instance if that is the best answer you can come up with. I was under the (obviously wrong) illusion that News groups where for friendly advice.

Michael , Many thanks to you too.I think you misunderstood. I can get file directly from the hard drive but I wanted to get them directly from the camera which I have now done.I have been Photoshoping since version 4 so I do know my way around the program.
