Dulling spray (or hair spray) or change the angle of the photograph.

But seriously, you need to recreate what’s behind the glass.

On one of my digital camera forums, a wise would be photographer once said that it’s easier to take the beer can out before taking the picture than after taking it.

for that matter, it’s easier to take a beer can out of a photo than to remove window glare over a complex background!

Also, if it’s glare from the window that’s interfering with a subject in front of the window, take your light measurement from a slightly darker place in the composition and shoot the picture with that.

If something shows through the reflection, you could try selecting the glare area via i. e. select>color range, then curves adjustment layers, maybe luminosity mode if colors change.

Try selecting area and jumping selection to new layer (Control+J). Image>Adjustment>Shadow/Highlight and then play with blending modes…used on a couple of boofs…worked rather well.

Can we make shadow/highlight an adjustment layer next release…promise I’ll pre-order!!!

Anyone have any idea on how I can get rid of window glare in a photo while keeping the integrity of what was in the window?

Advice on how to shoot to avoid it would be nice too.

Thanks.

Depending on what caused the glare one option would be to use a polarizer filter the next time you shoot but if the flash on the camera caused the glare you can try and shooting at an angle to have the light bounce away from you instead of reflecting straight back at you. As far as getting rid of the glare in the photo with PS it all depends on the severity of the glare and it ‘s intensity.
Hope this helps…

I had to remove flash from eyeglasses the other day and the healing tool worked great for me.

An adjustment layer (after selection of the window(s)) filled with white (or very light blue), opacity 50% (or different according to your taste)
