how to remove red color?

How do I filter out the red color component in the following image so that it goes from blue to a feathered blue-white color to white with no purple or red color in between?

The above is a sample. The actual image I’m working on has lots of area like this, so redrawing, cloning, or selecting is not practical/desireable.

I cannot use channel mixer and set R=0% because it would cause the white area, which is (255,255,255) to change color.
I try using "replace color" but the effect is not what I want — it leaves an abrupt edge.

with adjustemen/color balance you come close.
set cyan all the way to the left and green and blue to the right.

If you want it better than use the gradient tool.
The work is the same in time.

Sample the blue, switch to Brush tool and set the mode to Hue or Color. Brush over the red areas. If there are no other colors in you rimage to worry about you can achieve the same thing by filling a layer with blue and setting the blending mode to Hue or Color.

I haven’t looked at the image to know what it may look like, but if you want to change

– Color in general then you can use either: Color Balance, Curve, Level, Selective Color, Hue/Sat

– Specific Color, then you go to Sub-Color command of those commands above. Example you just want to mess with RED then select RED to deal with just RED only.

If none of the above work then you may have to use layer with different skill.
