Hi,
What is the difference between PS and what it does and what a high quality paint program does? What is the industry standard paint program in the area of VFX compositing?

Thanks,
Ron

Photoshop = mainly for Photo Retouching, but you can paint if you are good with Photoshop

Paint = Painting. You use brush to PAINT.

Or just like the difference between photo taken by camera vs painted by an artist.

Photoshop can be a great painter (especially using specific History Brush) if you know how, and for some style (not all) it’s lot easier, quicker, better than even Corel Painter X

For some very simple reasons, because you can combine the painting with so many other options/features of Photoshop that Corel Painter doesn’t have. Or many Corel Painters also use other photo retoucher program like Photoshop, PSP etc. to boost or fine-tuning the art work, when with Photoshop you can switch between painting/retouching anytme you want.

This is one of the samples how you can paint with Photoshop http://asnailpace.com/blog/ (it isn’t mine).
