Hi folks,

I have to create a color chart for a website. I already have 8 colors to start with and I need to create a new palette with some variations. For example, 6 different tones of Cool Grey. The problem is I don`t really know how to chose the variations. Is there any hint you can provide me with?

I use Photoshop 6.0

Thank you,

Laurent

In PS’s color picker you will see a box containing the HEX code. HEX is a coding of integers. So given that HEX codes are really integers, you can mess with some javascript if you are into coding. Otherwise, the simple answer is to find a site that does what you want and emulate it – see the link above.

Good luck!

I think I have another idea. Can anyone validate this?

In my starting colors, I have the PSM 646 blue. I googled it and found this useful chart :

http://www.vicforms.com/pmscharts.pdf

Is it okay if I use the following colors on my chart, for blue variations?

PMS 640
PMS 641
PMS 642
PMS 643
PMS 644
PMS 645
PMS 646
PMS 647
PMS 648
PMS 649
PMS 650
PMS 651
PMS 652
PMS 653

Thanks,

Laurent
