I am new to this group so I don’t know if this has been already asked and answered. However, here it goes.

I need to create a photo gallery using Photoshop CS 2 for the web. I have never done this before. I am wondering if anyone has done this? Also, does it show you the code to put on a site?

Thanks,
Colin

I have done it in 7 and CS. The program outputs folders with images, thumbnails and HTML documents. You have to upload all to the web server.

Here is one (in progress; I have changes to make):

Helps if you know some basic HTML.

It has nothing to do with Photoshop, but you can use one of the choices below (could be more but I give you the general info).

– Using graphic viewer with option to generate Thumbnail and Web-Slide or Web-Gallery like ACDSee (or similar as I know many can do the same). About ACSeee I tried 1-2 times many years ago and I hope the newer or current still have the feature.

– Or you can sign up for either FREE or FEE Photo Hosting and it should do everything for you.

About showing code, I haven’t done any web designed for probably a decade or more to know much about newer code, but with the old generation it was YES and NO you can use some trick to hide the code, and I believe the newer generation can do much better. But if you don’t even know the basic of web coding then I dunno how you know to hide yours <bg>

I made some pages using the web page galleries but I was unhappy with the final results for a couple reasons (in version 7.01 and in CS) if you click the thumbnails to make the picture larger it opens a new page, this page contains no link back to the thumbnails or next image.

it does have a couple good features
it’s easy to use
options for changing sizes of displayed images

Has anyone else here used this program? Is it better than the Photoshop route?

Also, I do know HTML, XHTM, asp.net as well as a few others for coding web pages. I just wanted to know if I can see the code the Photoshop puts in so that I can see if it using code that is not necessary.

Cheers,
Colin

I downloaded a great template from Adobe Exchange (Jeff Seal is the guy, I think he sells them now, they used to be free)
and it was much nicer looking but
when it gets to the last slide it has no way to return to top (I added this in another HTML editor)

try it by exporting the files to your desktop to preview before you try uploading to your server
"if you click the thumbnails to make the picture larger it opens a new page" They should open in a frame. At least they do for me.
