I have to move a graphic a specific distance. How can I do this in PS7? I know in Illustrator this is no big deal, and easily done, but can’t figure it out in PS7.

TIA

Free Transform…then look to the x, y, coordinates in the Options Bar.

Wanna change the units of measurement? Right-click (Control + click on Mac) in the numerical entry field to drop a menu, showing alternate units.

Do you also understand the 3 X 3 matrix (just to the left of the x-coordinate numerical entry field) that acts as a graphical representation of the transform bounding box’s anchor or reference point?

Thanks Phos…didn’t realise the right click thang, also you can just type the number and add the units in the box (mm, cm, px, % etc)and it will do to these and ignor current units…

….and for deans use if he hits the triangle (between the x and y-co ord entry) you get a relative (to the current pos) entry – that is it starts at 0,0…

Yup, Sam…good addition to my quick little note.

It’s always good to be aware of all those distinct possibilities and different ways to do things.
