thanks for the suggestions on the use of the raw files; incidentally i thought that that the digital negative by adobe was an "open" standard but as often i may be wrong …

the canon 20d has the ability to be set to srgb or rgb; as i work in photoshop in rgb i assume that is the correct setting … but … is it?

Canon has CRW, Nikon has NEF, etc. etc.

More specifically sRGB & Adobe RGB. However, I believe that if you shoot raw, it doesn’t matter as you can change it when you process as with PS Raw Window.. If you shoot JPEG then it would set the color space to one or the other. As JPEG is 8-bit, I’m not sure if it matters much.

Yes sRGB when U know how to use it RGB when U don`t need sRGB…;)

It is matter when U shoot in RAW or JPEG
