Hello,

I have a question, I am a fully satisfied Photoshop user to make my graphics (until now all for use on the computer screen), and now I want top print my results to make some nice brochures. Unfortenatley I get pretty poor results from the printer, the texts look pretty crappy (coarse) and the used fotos don’t look sharp either. I tried different printers and different resolutions but without any satisfying result.

The best result is made when I export my page as a JPG, import it in Word and the print!!! And then the result is still pretty useless as brochure! So any clues how to solve this or is Photoshop not the product to use for creating graphics for such artwork and if not, what is used in common???

Any help is welcome…

Best regards,
Peter

What resolution are you creating everything in? If you are rpinting I would recommend a minimum of 200dpi for a home printer. Remember the old saying: garbage in garbage out" You have to work in high rez to get high rez output.

And another consideration is the type. If you have a fully Postscript compatible printer, PS will do it for you. Otherwise, a page layout program, like PageMaker, InDesign, Quark will do a better job with the type. A word processor, like Word, WordPerfect will probably do a better job, than pure PS without postscript.

Hi,

Thanx guys! I was making the project in the standard settings (72DPI), I made new project in 300DPI and it was perfect. The only problem now was that my photo’s were not big enough…. I import then again from the camera and it looks perfect now, especially on glossy photo paper.

Again, thanks for the tip…
