Hi there

Using Photoshop 7 in Windows…

Is there a way I can apply a gradient overlay on a text layer that actually treats each letter separately in the way it applies the gradient. I am trying to get a white snowy effect on the tops of the text, but at the moment I can only it to apply to the tall characters (b,d, l , t etc)

Thanks in advance

Rob

Hi Rob,

Why don’t you try this free plugin that creates user selectable amounts of snow on any type of text or any other object on a transparent layer.

Hope this helps.

Hi George,
Thanks for that tip – the plugin worked a treat. And the snowflake plugin on the same site was cool as well.
Much appreciated!

It looks like you may’ve solved your problem, but to answer your question about applying gradients to individual letters—you would just have to use individual layers for each letter, perhaps linking them inside a layer set once they’re aligned properly.

Peadge 🙂
