Hi, I am a beginner in Photoshop, I currently have version 6 and my printer is HP1310 . I have a photo that I have resized but I am unable to position the photo where I would like it to be printed on 10 x 15 card. Each time I attempt to print the photo on a card the photo is not where I want it to be or where I thought it would be.
Could someone please explain the following:
1. Can I "print preview" in Photoshop version 6?
2. How do I position a photo to appear in a certain position (top left,
bottom left etc) on various sizes of paper for printing . Any information would be greatly appreciated as I have had no formal teaching in Photoshop or printing at all so please reply back as if you are talking to a 10 yr old.
Thankyou

Jackie

Print with Preview is the method.
Look in the window for "centre image" and untick it then just hold down the mouse button to move the picture to where you want it on the page.

Hello.

Dougs method is very easy, and works fine.

An other, and slightly more reassuring way for a real beginner, would be to change the Canvas Size to a slightly smaller size than the card you intend printing on.
Use a White Canvas ( Image > Canvas Size). Then select the picture and drag it into the position you want on the canvas.

I say almost the same size as your card, because your printer will probably leave an unprinted margin on all 4 sides. Should you get the "Image exceeds Printable Size" warning, just Crop the Canvas slightly until you don’t.

The Canvas will be printed in the Centre of your card, but no Ink will be applied to the White area.

The benefit of this is that you can see where your picture will appear, at full size, before you go into the Print Dialogues.
