Just received my 14NX back from Kodak. I can see the images in Photodesk and I save them AS IS on my hard drive. Whenever I attempt to open these NX images in 7.01 I get an error message "Error in opening file". I have)older Kodak camera (DCS 760) images in the same file and these open fine in 7.01. I also have PS CS and can open the NX images in CS.

I have downloaded the newest Kodak FFM and placed it in the Photoshop plugin folder.

Any suggestions how I can open these NX files in 7.01.

Thanks,

Well, yeah — Photoshop CS has camera RAW and 7.x didn’t.

To open RAW files in PS 7, you’ll have to use the manufacturer’s software to process the RAW file to some standard file format (PSD, TIFF, JPEG, etc.).

And you should probably remove the Kodak sofware from the CS plugins folder.

Chris,

Thanks, but what did you say? I said in my message that I had downloaded and installed the Kodak File format module that supports the 14NX in the 7.01 plugin folder.

Larry – if you installed the Kodak plugin in PS 7, then PS 7 would be able to open the Kodak files. That means that either the plugin doesn’t work, or you made a mistake in installing it somehow.

And if you have CS, why are you bothering with making it work in PS 7 ?

Good Question. However it now works as the computer was putting the FFM by default in CS. I moved the FFM to the right file folder.

We have several actions installed on 7.01 that have not yet been moved to CS. Our work load in the past three months has been exhausting frequently working 7 days a week. Moving actions is not high priority.

Anyway, thanks much for you help.
