I use the Web Gallery feature a lot, but I have never been able to find the instructions about uploading the folder. I have a FTP software but it doesn’t seem to upload folders, just files. I created folders at the website and tried to have the address include the folder and the index.htm but all I got was an error message. Can anyone direct me to the answer?

Windows?

WS_FTP will let you upload entire folders.

I’m pretty sure the freebie version does also.

Cute FTP is well worth looking at too. It can handle folders very easily.

Also, Windows Explorer [Win 2K and XP I think] is an FTP client in its spare time.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t think about the different features of different FTP software. Next question: How do I make the Web Gallery work once it is at the site?

Doesn’t the Web gallery include an index.htm file?
If so, you just need to upload the whole folder and it’ll work, as this is the default file opened by a Web browser.

Colin,
I would like to have two web galleries on the same website. How can I trigger the second one from the first or is there a web address I can type in to get to the second index.html file?

I would like to have two web galleries on the same website

You’d need to upload each into its own folder in your Web space. Then you need to create a simple home page, which simply has links to the 2 index.htm files. To do this, you either need to learn some HTML or get a tool for Web page authoring [like FrontPage, DreamWeaver, or GoLive].

Jay.
You have to test first. Later upload. All your pages, graphics and links on your hard drive first need to be tested in your browser before "going public".

If you want 2 galleries and one index page, you link them all and then you test by navigating your way through all of the pages, thumbnails, hyperlinks, etc –before you upload to your site.

Re; I would like to have two web galleries on the same website

You can also have a starting page, called index.html that has links to the two pages you have your galleries in.

Thanks to everyone. I usedthe suggestions and it worked. I put links in the website to the Folder/index.htm. I also found out you can go directly to the Web Gallery by using <http://www.websitename.com/Foldername/index.htm>

you can go directly to the Web Gallery

Well, yes. You can go directly to any file on the Internet, if you don’t mind a complex URL. Actually, you could use:
<http://www.websitename.com/Foldername> as the index.htm is default.
