Just received the pictures of our Christmas party from our photog. There are 40 pics of individual couples.

I would like to add our club logo & some text identifying each picture as from the Christmas party in 2004.

On the "practice" photo I have a text layer and a logo layer, in addition to the bground layer.

Are actions the best way to modify these photos as a group without working on each pic individually?

If so, how would you set this up?

Thanks,

Dennis

Assuming the type will be the same for every image, I would make the logo and type together on one transparent layer (text will have to be rasterized) and Copy it to the clipboard. Then make an action that consists of Paste, then using Transform position the text/logo where you want them. Flatten and Save. Run this from File>Automate>Batch.

Be sure to get the right settings in the Batch dialog. It would be best to do a test run on a couple images to make sure you have it right.

Yes to all, but also Save your original, un-edited images elsewhere. Work on copies of them only, as no one knows if you will ever need the un-edited versions for an as yet undetermined project. Once you Flatten, the text is there to stay, unless you do a lot of Clone/Patch work.

Thanks to Donster, Ed & Hunt, I am in tall clover, or is it cotton.

I’ve installed the Russ Brown java in my app, but didn’t use it yet. I’ll report back after I’ve run it (as a learning tool).

The file/Automate/Batch worked just fine. I copied the entire folder and worked on the new folder, giving me some backup in case of a mess, but it didn’t happen.

This newsgroup is one of the most helpful I’ve used and it is because of talented people willing to share their knowledge.

Thanks and a Happy New Year to all,

Dennis
