PS 7.1
Can someone help me to kill the mask with the line tool? Dang mask just appeared one day. I thought it was connected to the icons in the upper bar, but none of them are getting rid of the linked mask feature. Just want the good ole line with no mask. 🙂

Look at the Options Bar with the Line (or any Shape) selected. You will see three icons on the left which control which kind of line you are drawing: a pixel line, a vector shape with a mask, or a path. Choose the kind you want before drawing the line or any other Shape.

If yuo already have a line with a vector mask and you want to change it to a pixel line, right-click on it and choose Rasterize Layer.

Thanks for the reply Peadge! That got me to quickmask mode which helped, but the
right icon (of the trio) got it!

My initial assumption was that you may’ve hit the "Q" key by accident. Hitting it again would turn it back off.

Have a great New Year!
