Can anyone help me out.

I’m trying a tutorial where it says put the Opacity of the Eraser at 25% and start to erase the darkest areas of the picture.

My problem is if I unclick the mouse while erasing and go back over an area I already erased it erases that area even more. Is there a way to stop the eraser from doing this?

Thanks

You can make a selection of the area you want to erase by using a selection tool — Marquee tool, lasso tool, Magic Wand, etc. Once you have the selection, you can set your eraser size to a large size and go over the area without letting up on the mouse key. Feathering the selection may be a good idea. The eraser won’t affect anything outside the selection, except if the selection is feathered, where the level of erasing will diminish to zero for half of the selected feathering setting (in pixels).

selected areas and copying them to new layers helps with the general processing you seem to be doing

If you have a fast network connection try googling for video tutorials from wz2k

They are (IMHO) quite fantastic
