I’ve tried installing PhotoShop on a lab computer where the main user account is a restricted account that can’t install apps, etc. I can install it and run it fine from my admin account, but the users can’t run it…it crashes at startup with the generic "this program has generated errors…. a log file is being…"

After trying a lot of different things, I even temporarily changed that user account to an admin account and installed photoshop through it. But even with all this effort, it still crashed at startup. Any suggestions on how to get this working? I’m running PhotoShop 5.5.

Thanks,

When photoshop starts up, it reads several PSP files. When it closes, it updates those files. I’m not a tech wizard, but if users don’t have the proper permissions, it would seem logical that they would have problems loading (functionally) read-only files like the PSP’s. That’s a bass ackward way to say that if the PSP’s can’t be written to, there will be problems.

Not a solution, but perhaps a clue.??

Any idea where all the files are stored other than the Adobe folder so I can insure that they have sufficient permissions?
