Hola
I recently bought and install Diskepper 8.0, "to make my machine faster" However, I have notice that when I open anything in Photoshop CS, now it takes forever to open. The other possible "thing" that may be affecting Photoshop is that, after the installation of an update to GoLive, (update 7.02) I did restore my computer, and Photoshop started acting weird: Asking for registration, filters that didn’t work, errors, and files that it just didn’t open at all.
After register again, Shift/Ctrl/Alt, Photoshop was back on track…but is sooooooo slow. Any Ideas why this may happen?
I have a PC, with XP, Pentium 4, and I gig of Rambus memory. I should have enough memory to run faster or at least as it used to run. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like your OS install or hard disk might be corrupt.

Hola Chris
Can you please be more specific?
I don’t understand what do you mean by that.
Thanks

I can’t be more specific – you’re seeing some really screwey behavior.

The most likely cause in this case would be a corrupt OS install, or a corrupt (and possibly defective) hard disk.

Just slow launch times could be due to the AutoFX plugins.

Slow running of Photoshop could be from corrupt preferences (see the FAQ), a corrupt OS, disk problems, RAM problems, conflicts with other software, etc.

Chris you sound like you are mad or something. If you don’t want to explain or if you think that this question is to obvious for you, just don’t answer anything. If I’m here in this forum, it’s because I need help, not because I want to insult your intelligence with my questions.
Thank you very much.

I am explaining. I’ve answered your questions, and given you a direction to investigate. I can’t solve your system problem without being at your system — only you can do that. And unless you ask more direct questions, I don’t know how else to help.

I’m not mad – I’m just giving you the facts.

Easy there, big fella.

The suggestion Chris gave was clear and accurate.

I’ve found that since we’ve upgraded to Photoshop 7.0 at work, opening any file is amazingly slow. Even a small jpeg image takes 10 to 20 seconds. Is this something that everyone is experiencing? Or is it just a few people like me and Dan? And is there any way to fix it?

Thanks.
